Then look no further then the NBA Developmental League. The NY Post has a good article on Agudio, the all time leading scorer in Hofstra history, who is playing quite well in the D League. You know there are a couple of downtrodden NY metro NBA basketball teams that could use a good shooter like Agudio.
And then there was three. After Rhode Island losing at mediocre St Bonaventure on Saturday, the Rams are off the bubble. The Rams are tied for sixth with fellow off the bubble Dayton and one game behind the third member of the A10 Implosion Trifecta, Charlotte. Right now, only Temple, Richmond and Xavier are making the Dance, unless another team wins the A10 Tourney.
Speaking of Richmond and Xavier, what a terrific double overtime game they played on ESPN2. Bet a lot of committee members were watching that and saying"Those are two NCAA Tourney teams!"
Another team that sealed a NCAA bid with an overtime win was Marquette, aka the Masters of Overtime. They won their third straight road overtime win, an 84-83 win at Seton Hall. Marquette is now tied with Louisville for fifth in the Big East at 10-6.
Speaking of Louisville, the Cardinals came from behind and knocked off UConn at Storrs, 78-76. The win probably puts the Pitino and friends in the NCAA Tournament again. Meanwhile UConn's loss and Notre Dame's two wins over Pitt and at Georgetown mean that Notre Dame and UConn swap spots in the Big East standings and probably the NCAA bubble discussion. The Irish home game with UConn this week may decide who is a member of the Tournament and who isn't.
Finally, the Jekyll and Hyde Florida Gators, played Hyde again and lost at Georgia this weekend. This puts them back in discussion with fellow SEC bubble member Mississippi State to see who belongs in and who belongs out.
I don't envy Joe Lunardi. Certainly not this season.
